I used my own T.R.U.S.T. Method for 10 days. Here’s what really happened.

Over the last 10 days, I’ve been practicing what I preach — using my own T.R.U.S.T. Method for warm outreach.

I sent 70 new messages. No funnels, no automation, no “just circling back” copy-paste nonsense.

Just me, reaching out like a human — and inviting people to a Zoom Coffee Call ☕️ (yes, that’s the real name — casual, no pressure, caffeine welcome).

And while it didn’t magically land me a hundred clients overnight, it did teach me a lot. About connection. About consistency. About myself.

Here’s what I learned.

Let’s get real. Warm outreach isn’t some magical shortcut to instant sales. It’s a slow burn — a long-term relationship builder. People may not refer you today… but in two weeks, two months, or even two years? That’s when seeds sprout.

Here are 10 raw lessons from my outreach marathon:

  1. It takes energy — loads of it. You’re not sending templates. You’re being human. Thoughtful. Present. That’s beautiful… and exhausting.
  2. Put it first on your calendar. Or it won’t happen. Outreach after lunch? Ha. Good luck.
  3. No one owes you a reply. Ghosting is normal. You’re not being ignored — you’re just not someone’s priority today.
  4. When replies are weird, awkward, or frosty? Still okay. You’re not here to be liked. You’re here to connect.
  5. This is not a sprint. Treat it like building friendships. And friendships take time.
  6. It’s not just about the first message. It’s the follow-ups, the scheduling, the rescheduling, the being-a-human part.
  7. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. You’re not a robot. Pace yourself like one.
  8. You must detach from outcomes. The second you make it about results, you’ll burn out. Make it about process and presence.
  9. Find a way that works for you. Voice notes? Memes? Thoughtful intros? Experiment until it feels like you.
  10. Accountability is non-negotiable. Unless you’re that rare unicorn who follows through on everything (and if so, I salute you), you’ll need a buddy, a coach, or a public promise.

🛑 Warm outreach isn’t about convincing people to hire you.

It’s about keeping relationships alive. It’s about helping your friends when you can. It’s about making sure you're top of mind — by simply reminding people that you exist and you care.

You’re not selling. You’re staying connected 🔗

And yes, it might lead to clients. But even if it doesn’t, it leads to something just as important: community, clarity, momentum.
